Crash Reporting Timeline

Be advised that there is not a defined timeframe in which law enforcement must submit their report to the MSP. However, reports are typically received by the Unit 3 - 30 days after a crash and are made available for purchase once the report has been received.

Please be aware that the Traffic Crash Reporting unit cannot provide the following assistance:

Filing a traffic crash report for an accident that needs to be reported.
Modifying or making corrections to a published traffic crash report.
Providing information such as a report number, insurance information, information regarding the involved parties, etc. via phone or email.
