In November 2025, Ms. Brianna Briggs assumed the role of Assistant Division Commander for the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD). In this capacity, she provides leadership for statewide emergency management operations, strategic planning, and interagency coordination, ensuring Michigan remains prepared for all hazards and resilient in the face of emergencies.

Previously, Brianna held leadership roles within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and MSP/EMHSD, including positions where she managed operations for the Community Health Emergency Coordination Center (CHECC) and the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), managed multi-million dollar budgets, ensured compliance with federal grant and cooperative agreement requirements, developed strategic plans, and coordinated interstate mutual aid as Michigan’s Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) Coordinator. Her tenure included serving on the EMAC Executive Task Force and spearheading initiatives to enhance diversity and inclusion within the MSP/EMHSD.

Brianna’s career began in financial and administrative roles within state government before transitioning to emergency management, where she advanced through progressively responsible positions. Her expertise spans disaster response operations, grant administration, strategic planning, and interagency coordination, making her a trusted leader in emergency management.
