MI Healthy Climate Corps

Establishing Michigan as a leader in tackling the climate crisis, the MI Healthy Climate Plan lays out a broad vision for fulfilling Governor Whitmer’s commitment to achieving 100% economy-wide carbon neutrality in Michigan by midcentury.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, & Energy Office of Climate and Energy (OCE) is partnering with the Michigan Community Service Commission to leverage state and federal investments to launch the MI Healthy Climate Corps an innovative approach to advancing the goals of the MI Healthy Climate Plan.

About the MI Healthy Climate Corps

Accelerating climate action. Supporting communities. Building leaders.

MI Healthy Climate Corps members serve at organizations across Michigan, providing critical support to communities tackling climate change. The program launched in early 2024 with new cohorts selected annually. How to get involved

The MI Healthy Climate Corps is actively engaging with community partners, state agencies, and others to identify needs, and opportunities for this program to catalyze action and setting up a process to request support.

We are iteratively building training, support, and technical assistance program elements and are interested in knowing who may have resources, content, or other partnership ideas to make this as impactful as possible.
