EGLE's interactive calendar is designed to provide timely information on decisions before the Director, proposed settlements of contested cases, administrative rules promulgation, public hearings, meetings and comment deadlines, and environmental conferences, workshops and training programs.
The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

Teachers and nonformal educators are invited back to the classroom with a new online professional learning opportunity from EGLE Classroom called EnviroSchool.
The EnviroSchool webinar series gives educators the opportunity to learn directly from EGLE staff about their areas of expertise and their daily work to protect our environment.
“EnviroSchool will allow Michigan educators to interact directly with environmental professionals around the issues they’re teaching about in the classroom,” said Eileen Boekestein, EGLE’s environmental education coordinator. “This gives teachers real-world information that makes environmental science more relevant and learning opportunities richer for students.”
The EnviroSchool learning series will take place monthly from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., beginning September 21. Each online session will include a presentation from EGLE’s program staff, plenty of time for Q&A, and curricular resources that educators can take back to their classrooms. Participants should come prepared to actively participate.
Registration for the first three sessions is open now on the EnviroSchool website.
All webinars will be recorded and posted to EGLE Classroom. Educators who attend online live will be eligible to receive 1.5 SCECHs. (SCECHs are not available for viewing recordings.)

Critical water system upgrades are in the works in dozens of Michigan communities thanks to $1.05 billion in low-interest loans from the state revolving funds. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) issued financing agreements to 72 projects in the Drinking Water and Clean Water state revolving funds across the state in fiscal year 2024.
