Village of Montgomery
Village of Montgomery
The goal with this grant is to upgrade the village park, where the current equipment has aged and with several pieces being removed due to safety, the new equipment will give outside activities for the community members to enjoy. The park will be fenced in and have pavement around the park for people to both walk and run on. The ball diamond will have a new backstop installed to help with the ball games that take place every summer. The current back stop is in very poor condition.
The next project is the fire department/municipality building. An addition will be added to the east of the building so the fire department can have more space to store equipment. The building will also have a generator, heating and cooling installed. The idea with the generator, heating and cooling is so if heating and cooling centers are needed, we can also open up to the public for a safe place to come and get warm or cool down. Currently all doors have to be manually opened if there is a power outage, so the addition of the generator will be of great help.
The last part of the project is to replace the failing roof at the village streets department as well as install a generator in this building. Currently, if there is a power outage, the streets department faces delays when responding to a snowstorm, rainstorm or any other type of emergency.
