Education Workforce Job Fairs

Developing, supporting and sustaining a high-quality, prepared and collaborative education workforce is a high priority of the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). That's why in 2023 we're hosting Education Workforce Job Fairs to connect job seekers and those hiring teachers, substitute teachers, bus drivers, custodians, paraprofessionals, secretaries, administrators, and other education-related positions.

Information regarding the 2024 Education Workforce Job Fairs is coming soon!

About the Job Fairs

MDE is pleased to announce three virtual events for added flexibility. Through a partnership with the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO), the fairs will utilize the Brazen platform to ensure Michigan can continue to meet the demands of employers and job seekers - virtually! Please note: Brazen works best with the Google Chrome web browser, so please download the latest version prior to participating.

The Education Workforce Job Fairs are free of charge for all Local Education Agencies (LEAs), Intermediate School Districts (ISDs), Public School Academies (PSAs), and educator staffing agencies, as well as all job-seeking candidates. Each job fair takes place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Information for Job Seekers

Job seekers can connect with school districts from across the state. Registration is free. For the virtual job fair, it is recommended that jobseekers log on to the platform in advance of the event to upload a resume and complete a profile, including any current areas of certification.

Registration links for 2024 will be available soon.

Below, please find helpful resources about the Brazen platform:

To check the status of your Michigan certification, login to the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS). For further questions regarding certification, please contact MDE-EducatorHelp@Michigan.gov

Information for Employers

Registration is free but is considered a commitment to attend as there is a limit on the number of available virtual booths. If you need to cancel, please contact Shelby Lee

Employers will each be given a virtual booth at no cost. Following registration, the booth owner will receive additional information about status on the waiting list or about setting up the booth and adding representatives.

  • Signing up as an employer gives you access to:
  • Highlighting the mission and benefits of your school or organization
  • Summarizing your current job opportunities and programs
  • Posting a video about your school or organization
  • Chatting with job seekers

Scheduling Chats: Prior to an event, you can review registrants' resumes and send out invitations to them to choose from any of your available time slots. This feature allows candidates to be paired with a specific booth representative. Time slots are automatically generated based on the Scheduled Chat settings determined by the event host. Candidates simply choose a time slot that works for them to have a Scheduled Chat with you. For more information, view Scheduled Chats
