Data Requests for Researchers
Michigan Education Research Institute (MERI)
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) have a research partnership with the University of Michigan and Michigan State University called the Michigan Education Research Institute (MERI). MERI is aimed at studying public education in Michigan with the goal of improving education services and outcomes for all students. The partners share a centralized resource for researchers to submit proposals, obtain data in a research-ready format, collaborate, and pursue analysis for topics of interest in support of MDE's education research agenda.
All application materials, change request forms, and other information pertinent to requesting Michigan education data sets for audits, evaluations, and studies of education programs in Michigan are available on the MERI website.
