The Michigan Department of Education supports establishing International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at all levels offered:
To remove the financial barrier to taking the Advanced Placement (AP), IB, and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, Section 94 of The State School Aid Act of 1979 (MCL 388.1694) makes $1.2 million dollars available to low-income students and their families. The law encourages students to take IB and AP courses and participate in the exams associated with these courses. These exams can translate into college credit, subsequently reducing college tuition costs. If you have questions regarding IB in Michigan please contact Jeff McNeal.
