About Human Resources

Our Office provides a variety of personnel services in support of the Department and our employees. Department services include the recruitment and hiring of staff for positions within the Department; management of payroll and personnel records; and the coordination of employee/management relations within the context of Civil Service policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.

 

Employee services include answering questions about benefits, pay, Civil Service classifications, training and career development. A recent addition to our office is Human Resources Development which will allow us to better assess and address staff training and development needs.

The Office is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Federal and State Equal Opportunity Laws.

 

The Organizational Development component of our Office oversees a number of projects and activities which assist in making our Department a fulfilling and productive place to work. Some of these efforts include quality initiatives, leadership training, employee recognition, new employee orientation and a variety of other learning activities focused on personal and organizational growth.
