The Office of Human Resources supports learners and learning by overseeing human resource operations for the Michigan Department of Education. HR is responsible for the selection, classification, compensation, and employee and labor relations for over 500 employees. The office implements and ensures adherence to three collective bargaining agreements (UAW, AFSCME, and SEIU Health and Human Services) and the Civil Service rules and regulations for non-represented employees (NERE). HR supports employees in five work locations the John Hannah Building, Library of Michigan, Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint, Cadillac Building in Detroit, and Camp Tuhsmeheta in Greenville.
