School Resource Officers (SROs)

A School Resource Officer (SRO) holds a very unique position in the school community. It's important the role is very clear to the SRO, administration, school staff, students and the community. The roles and responsibilities of an SRO may be different in different districts depending on the needs of that district. It is critical that the matter of the disciplining of students be left to the school staff and administration and that a Memorandum of Understanding clearly spell out roles and responsibilities.
