Section 24

Local districts or intermediate school districts educating pupils assigned by a court or the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to reside in, or to attend, a juvenile detention facility or child-caring institution are eligible for reimbursement under the provisions of Section 24 of the State School Aid Act. The juvenile detention facility or the child-caring institution must be licensed by DHHS and approved by the Michigan Department of Education to provide an on-grounds education program.
