Michigan's PTI Application Review Process

The goal of our permit process is to meet the needs of a modern, fast-paced economy while preserving or improving environmental protection. The process provides:

• A review process that is efficient, concise, and transparent.
• Maximum environmental protection and manufacturing flexibility.
• Opportunities for face-to-face meetings so requirements are communicated at the start and throughout the permitting process.
• Eliminates repetitive work and waiting in the permitting process by ensuring that requirements, issues, and goals are identified and clearly communicated prior to application submittal and/or initiating engineering review.
• Compliance with all state and federal requirements.
• Result in an average time required for review of air permit applications of less than six calendar months.
• Achievable, demonstrable, and value-added permit conditions. 
• Opportunities for increased and enhanced public involvement.
