HER Contractor incentives

 $200 is available for projects completed in disadvantaged communities (DACs)

The Home Energy Rebate program’s defines disadvantaged communities as those meeting the federal classification criteria under Justice 40. Contractors that complete a project in a disadvantaged community qualify to earn a $150 (for HEAR projects) or $200 (for HEER projects) incentive per household per program. Additional incentives are available for the HEAR program and are subject to a $500 maximum incentive cap.

Census tracts that are overburdened and underserved are highlighted as being disadvantaged on the map. Federally Recognized Tribes, including Alaska Native Villages, are also considered disadvantaged communities.

Eligible entities (e.g. non-profits, government, etc.) and contractors are eligible to the disadvantaged community incentive once per household per program. The entity could not claim the $150 HEAR and $200 HEER incentive for the same household. Household eligibility will be confirmed when a project is submitted.
