Guidance for scaling community resilience hubs in Michigan
Michiganders are increasingly experiencing frequent and prolonged power outages that pose serious risks to health, safety, and well-being. To meet those needs, many frontline organizations and trusted local institutions are delivering key resilience services. Strengthening their capacity through shared learning, emergency supplies, technical assistance, and investment in resilient infrastructure, such as solar, battery storage, and efficiency upgrades, can significantly improve local resilience. To support this important work, 5 Lakes Energy—on behalf of the State of Michigan—developed the report Guidance for Scaling Community Resilience Hubs in Michigan. It highlights:
- Michigan’s unique resilience needs and vulnerabilities.
- Blue- and black-sky programming to support these needs.
- Where and how to site resilience hubs in your community.
- Technical guidance on resilient power systems.
- Approaches to funding and network coordination.
State and local government staff, nonprofit leaders, community-based organizations, and anyone interested in advancing community resilience in Michigan would benefit from participating in this webinar.
