- 2021-22 RFP Process - Young Professionals
The Young Professionals initiative increases career awareness and preparation while reducing youth unemployment. A total of $2 million is available to fund this initiative.
An RFP process is being conducted for 2021-22 for the Young Professionals program. Michigan Works! Agencies/Workforce Development Boards are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting a response is February 3, 2021.
- 2021-22 RFP Process - Section 107 of the State School Aid Act -
Section 107 of the State School Aid Act allocates $26 million for regional adult education instructional programs to improve literacy and English speaking skills and/or obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent in order to obtain/retain employment and/or enroll in postsecondary or skills training programs. Eligible agencies are intermediate school districts (ISD district), local educational agencies (LEA district), and public school academies (PSA district).
An RFP process is being conducted for 2021-22 by the Section 107 fiscal agent for each of the ten prosperity regions in Michigan. Please refer to Office of Adult Education - Section 107 web page for additional information, including contact information for each region. The deadline for submitting an application is February 19, 2021.
- Registered Apprenticeship Expansion Request for Proposals
More than $11 million is available to fund grant awards to groups of statewide and/or local partners to expand registered apprenticeship opportunities.
Request for Proposal submissions are due by 5:00 PM EST Feb. 1, 2021 with awards announced on March 1, 2021. A pre-submission informational webinar will occur on Jan. 6, 2021 to provide an overview of the process for potential applicants.

On June 23, 2020, the U.S. Department of Labor approved a waiver of statutory and regulatory provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Conditions were removed via email notification from USDOL on September 18, 2020.
- Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) 2020-2023 Unified State Plan and Approved Waivers
On June 23, 2020 the U.S. Department of Labor approved Michigan’s Program Year (PY) 2020 WIOA Unified State Plan, submitted on March 31, 2020. The State plan is valid through June 30, 2024.
