Mental Health in the Workplace
There are many things in life that induce stress, including work. Workplace stress and poor mental health can negatively affect employee job performance, productivity, and safety. Workplace stressors have been shown to have a direct link to overall health outcomes, with findings that more than 120,000 deaths per year are caused by stress in the workplace.
MIOSHA has no regulations that address workplace stress, however MIOSHA supports employers having resources available in the workplace. Employers can not only help employees, but their communities and the company’s bottom line. Below are some resources for employers to learn more about how to assist employees in self-care and journey towards improved employee whole health. You can also sign up for our newsletter and receive updates on any events that may occur to highlight resources for mental health in the workplace.
