Register Your Business
The following registration process is for those who are not registered with the Unemployment Insurance Agency.
If you have employees covered by the Michigan UI law, you must register for an unemployment employer account. For users who already have an unemployment account, please refer to the Initiate Existing Account Job Aid (Employers).

Step 1: Creating a MiLogin for Business Account and Log in to MiUI
For a step-by-step guide on how to create a MiLogin for Business Account, refer to the Create a MiLogin for Business Account and Log in to MiUI Step-by-Step Guide.
On page 12 of the Step-by-Step Guide, users can find instructions on how to log in to MiUI for the first time. After registering in MiUI for the first time and if there are no further questions, users will receive their EAN.
Before moving to step 2, you must wait four days for your account information to fully transfer to MiWAM.

Step 2: Setup MiWAM Account for Benefit Functions
Go to MiWAM For Employers to create a MiWAM account. Select Sign Up for an Employer / Service Provider MiWAM Account. Select Employer.
You will need your:
- Unemployment Account Number
- ZIP Code for the physical address you put on your registration application
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)

Step 3: Authorize Your MiWAM Account
Once your MiWAM account is created, you’ll have 10 calendar days of limited access to your account.
To gain full access to all MiWAM features (e.g., responding to claims), you must log in and enter your authorization code.
What if I haven’t received my authorization code?
1. Visit the MiWAM portal and click “Lost/Never Received Authorization Code?

2. Enter your email address and Employer Account Number (EAN) and click “Submit.”

3. UIA will mail an Authorization Code to the physical business address within 10 business days.
