Veterans Priority of Service
Veterans with at least one day of active military service and eligible spouses are eligible to receive Priority of Service. Priority of Service veterans and eligible spouses have the right to take precedence over a non-covered person in obtaining all employment and training services funded, in whole or part, through the Department of Labor (DOL). If you are a veteran or eligible spouse, please identify yourself as such to the Michigan Works! Service Center staff. For additional information on Priority of Service, call 1-800-285-WORKS (9675) to be connected to your nearest service center.
Michigan Veteran Connector
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency’s (MVAA) Veteran Connector Program supports earlier identification of service members, veterans and their families to better facilitate proactive referrals prior to a crisis. As we know, the more connected veterans are to the benefits and resources they have earned through military service, the lower their risk for suicide and other self-harming behaviors.
