Future Proud Michigan Educators
The Future Proud Michigan Educator (Future PME) campaign is a subset of the broader Proud Michigan Educator (PME) campaign that focuses on recognizing and honoring our current Michigan educators.
The Future PME pathways focus on four types of future teachers:
-
Students in grades 6-12 (expanded)
-
Individuals working in K-12 schools
-
Career-changers
-
Educators transferring licensure from other states
New Expanded 6-12 Future PME Pathway
The newest component provides an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to explore education professions in addition to traditional Career and Technical Education programs. MDE provides participating school districts flexible models for implementation, content standards and curriculum, and free professional development for educators.
All 6-12 Future PME programs encourage, local and intermediate school districts to develop hands-on learning experiences in teaching for students, with supervision and mentoring from educators who are champions of the teaching profession and are committed to the success of the profession.
