Additional Instructional Time Grant
Section 35a(5) of the FY 25 State School Aid Act provides $19,900,000 to districts for additional instructional time to pupils in grades pre-K to 5 who have been identified as needing additional supports and interventions in order to be reading at grade level by the end of grade 3.
2024-25 Grant Application
The 2024-25 Section 35a(5) Additional Instructional Time Grant application will open in NexSys on October 3, 2024. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on November 4, 2024. Please Note: Grant funds will be allocated dependent upon the number of applicants, and is formula based on an equal amount per eligible first grader based on the 2023-24 end-of-year student count. The grant award amount may vary from a previous year's award. Budgets will be built in NexSys using the per pupil allocation of $197.00 per first grader based on the 2023-24 end-of-year student count. This is the per pupil amount if every eligible district applies for funding. After the Application closes and the 2024-25 per pupil amount is calculated, districts will have the opportunity to amend their budgets to reflect the correct grant award allocation.
