Communities In Schools (CIS) three Michigan affiliates place full-time student support coordinators in participating school buildings, connecting students and families with supportive adults and community resources. This competitive opportunity is open to eligible local education agencies, both traditional public school districts and public school academies, to support the first year of a three-year partnership with CIS (Scaling Option) or to enhance existing CIS partnerships (Enhanced Option) by adding a new program or initiative or increasing staffing in an existing CIS partnership school to current programming.
The Office of Educational Supports will offer technical assistance office hours related to completing the application in NexSys. These are optional office hours to answer any questions that district leaders may have while completing the competitive grant process.
