Strive For a Safer Drive

Strive for a Safer Drive (S4SD) is a teen driving initiative aimed at reducing serious traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities among Michigan's most inexperienced drivers - teens.  It is presented by Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) and the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP). All Michigan high schools are eligible to apply.

Winners announced for 2023-2024 program
Strive for a Safer Drive (S4SD) is proud to announce the completion of its 2023-2024 program!
This year, 41 Michigan high schools were accepted into the program. Campaigns began in December 2023 and concluded in April, with all participating high schools required to complete and submit a final presentation (either a PowerPoint or video presentation).

Members from the Ford Motor Company Fund, the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, and the Transportation Improvement Association reviewed all submitted presentations. We would like to thank all participating schools and students for their tremendous effort as we raise awareness of various traffic safety issues.

S4SD campaign results
Once again, with so many great presentations, it was extremely difficult to select the top ones. The top schools were selected based on creativity, execution and compliance with the S4SD participation requirements. This year, four schools were selected.
Congratulations to the following schools!

First place: Memphis Jr/Sr High School

Second place: Chippewa Valley High School

Third place: Anchor Bay High School

Fourth place: Hillman High School

Please join us in once again thanking and congratulating all participating high schools for their hard work and creativity. You help make this important safe-driving program possible.

The S4SD Spring newsletter showcases some of the wonderful efforts of this program.
