Financial Assessment:  EGLE offers a free financial assessment of a municipality's water system for those communities with populations of 10,000 or less.  The financial assessment involves:

  • A review of the existing revenue system and financial and legal documents
  • Recommendations on how to improve the water system's financial and legal structure
  • Discussion of asset management tools
  • Follow-up involving a meeting with town council members to answer their questions.

All recommendations provided during the financial assessment are exactly that - recommendations, which are voluntary and non-binding.  To find out more, contact Bob Schneider, EGLE, Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division, at or 517-388-6466 or talk to your EGLE district drinking water staff.
