Air Permits Transfer of Ownership and Name Changes
Transfer of Ownership
Requests for changes of ownership and operational control are processed by the district supervisor. Requests may be submitted through MiEnviro Portal using the "Air Notification of Transfer of Ownership" form. This form is accessed by:
- Navigating to your site in MiEnviro
- Click Start a New Form
- Click I want to make a service request
- Click Begin next to the "Air Notification of Transfer of Ownership" form
- Fill out and submit the form
Requests should include all of the following information as required by Rule 219(1)(a) :
- Description of the stationary source, process, or process equipment.
- A listing of the permits, voluntary agreements, consent orders, or judgments involved in the request.
- Identification of the new owner and the specific date for the transfer of responsibility, coverage, and liability.
- A written statement from the new owners accepting responsibility for terms of the permit and associated agreements or judgments.
Requests should include the permit numbers of all permits affected by the transfer. For Renewable Operating Permit (ROP) transfer of ownership, see Rule 216(1) in the air use approval rules.
Name Changes
Notification of name changes should be submitted through MiEnviro Portal using the "Air Notification of Transfer of Ownership" form.
Company name changes do not involve any change in ownership or operational control of the source. Requests should include the permit numbers of all permits affected by the change.
