The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The Charge Up Michigan Program is an EV Charger Placement grant project that aims to build the infrastructure for direct current fast charging (DCFC) stations throughout Michigan, for worry free EV travel within the state, and also to neighboring states and Canada.
National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program will provide dedicated funding to States to strategically deploy electric vehicle infrastructure and establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability.
EGLE is working with businesses, townships, counties, cities and villages throughout the state to help them become EV ready. To become EV ready requires a community-wide effort requiring planning, charging infrastructure policies, and support services for EVs.
EGLE has taken steps to develop a DC fast charging network for worry-free electric vehicle (EV) travel throughout Michigan by 2030. The project, driven by stakeholders, takes an analytical approach to optimizing the placement of EV charging stations statewide with minimal investment cost and user delay. The Optimized EV Charger Placement Plan identified the locations that would be eligible for grant funding through Charge Up Michigan.
The Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) works across state government, academia and private industry to enhance Michigan's mobility ecosystem, including developing dynamic mobility and electrification policies and supporting the startup and scale up of emerging technologies and businesses.
