Enbridge Documents: Pipeline/Anchor Support Damage, June 2020

This page contains reports submitted to the State of Michigan by Enbridge Energy Co. as requested by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in the aftermath of the discovery of damage sustained in June, 2020, to the Line 5 pipeline and its anchor supports in the Straits of Mackinac. Enbridge shut down both legs of the Line 5 petroleum pipeline in the Straits on June 18, 2020 after examining the damage. The lines remain shut down after a judge on June 25 concurred with Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s request for a temporary restraining order to stop pipeline operations pending a hearing on a preliminary injunction scheduled for June 30, 2020.
