Surface Water Treatment Series

Drinking water plants that use surface water or ground water under the direct influence of surface water as a source are subject to a complex set of regulations under the Safe Drinking Water Act. These drinking water systems protect public health by providing quality drinking water to millions of Michigan residents.

The goal of this webinar series is to provide free, relevant, and timely training. If you are a Michigan F certified operator, associated personnel, or interested in surface water treatment, this series is for you!

Upcoming Webinars in this Series

Sept 17, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Capacity - General Plans, Reliability Studies, Asset Management Plans and Capital Improvement Plans
Capacity is the ability of a water supply to plan for, achieve, and maintain compliance with drinking water standards. Capacity consists of three parts: technical, managerial, and financial (TMF). A supply must achieve and maintain all three to be considered to have adequate capacity. Development and implementation of a General Plan, a Reliability Study, an Asset Management Plan, and Capital Improvement Plan are major components to achieving overall TMF capacity for a water system. This webinar will cover the requirements and purpose of each of these plans.
