High School Equivalency: GED, HiSET, TASC
In compliance with Public Act 249 of 2016, the State of Michigan recognizes the following high school equivalency tests as options for individuals to earn a high school equivalency credential:
“The Data Recognition Corp (DRC) has decided to discontinue the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) in states where the test volume is low, which includes Michigan. TASC will no longer be offered in Michigan after December 31, 2020.
Testers who are in the process of completing the TASC test series must complete all subjects with passing scores by December 31, 2020 to earn their Michigan High School Equivalency Credential. If testing is not completed by that date, testers will have to take the GED or HiSET series and will have to take all subjects under the other testing options, regardless of any tests taken under TASC.”
The purpose of these options is to certify an individual's attainment of academic knowledge and skills equivalent to those of a high school graduate.
HSE-To-School Program - This program covers the cost of one attempt on each subject area for the three high school equivalency testing options.
