Ensure that the community has one or more organizations supporting the digital inclusion process via volunteers or appropriately trained staff available remotely or in-person at a local facility. This program can be modeled after NDIA’s Digital Navigator Program with local practitioners called digital navigators. NDIA provides guidance and support for forming a local digital navigators program.
How does this work? A trained digital navigator will be able to assess a community member’s need and competently guide them toward resources suitable for their skill level and lifestyle. A digital navigator can reliably point a community member to online resources, low-cost devices, ACP enrollment, digital literacy training and other digital inclusion-related needs, online classes or self-guided tutorials. Some resources include the Digital Navigator Playbook are available by DigitalUS.
