Dr. Lohren Carter-Nzoma Deputy Superintendent, Educator Excellence, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, and Administrative Law

Lohren has over 20 years of educational experience in Michigan as an educator and district administrator. Lohren most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent of Exceptional Student Education with Detroit Public Schools Community District, a role she has held since 2018. Her previous experience includes serving as Assistant Director, Specialized Student Services for Ann Arbor Public Schools; Student Information System Manager, Special Education Compliance Manager, and Intermediate School District Special Education Monitor for the Education Achievement Authority; and Central Office Special Education Supervisor for National Heritage Academies. Lohren’s leadership is grounded in system alignment, data-driven professional learning, and building collaborative partnerships. She is highly respected in the field and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Michigan State University.
