Other Activity:

Warrant Maintenance:

Since Regional Policing, the Regional Communications Centers (RCCs) house and maintain warrants for the posts, fugitive and drug teams, and HSTs. After-hours confirmation would otherwise require a trooper to return to the post to confirm a warrant. By statute, it is the department’s obligation to enter, modify, and remove all court orders into the Law Enforcement Information Network, including Legally Incapacitated Persons (MCL700.5107), Mentally Incapacitated Persons (MCL330.1464a), and Personal Protection Orders (MCL 600.2950).

Phones:

Post phones and call boxes are answered at the RCCs outside of normal business hours. They are the after-hours contact point for district personnel, and provide 24-hour emergency notification services for department command staff. Additionally, the LRCC is the answering point for switchboard calls at MSP Headquarters.

Radio Control Monitor (RCM):

The RCM is used to monitor and address Emergency Alert activations. The RCM is programmed with all talk groups, both state and local, and is used to respond to Emergency Alert activations for all department members within their region.

ICALL/Mutual Aid:

ICALL is one of the National Public Safety Policy Advisor Committees national mutual aid channels. ICALL repeaters are located on the Michigan Public Safety Communication System (MPSCS) towers, and are turned on/off from controllers within the RCCs. Through a system wide repeater network, department members can contact a MSP RCC for assistance or service in the event the MPSCS digital system is down.
