Effective April 14, 2026, the Michigan State Police transitioned to a Traffic Crash Purchasing System (TCPS) that is accessed through MiLogin.

How to create a MiLogin account
Step 1: Email Verification
Enter your email address
Step 2: Passcode Verification
A passcode will be sent to that email address.
- Enter the passcode
- Select Next Step
Step 3: Profile Information:
Enter your first name, middle initial, and last name.
- Click on Agree to Terms & Conditions
- Click Next Step
Step 4: Work Phone Verification (Business Account Only)
Enter your work or business number and click Next Step.
You will immediately receive a call with a passcode to enter. Enter the passcode on the next screen.
Step 5: Mobile Phone Verification.
Enter your mobile number.
Business Accounts: The mobile phone number can be the same phone number you entered before.
Step 6: Verification Method
Pick which verification method you would like to use for the mobile device. Once you receive the passcode, enter it on the next screen.
Step 7: User ID
You will then create your User ID.
The User ID is required to sign in, so choose something that you will remember and that meets the ID Guidelines provided.
Step 8: Password
Choose a password and confirm it by typing it in both places.
Then, select Create Account. Check your email to receive your MiLogin account approval.
MiLogin Users will be able to sign in to the TCPS once the account has been created. No additional application requests are required.

If you are a registered MiLogin user, the "LOGIN" button for the TCPS site can be found in the upper right corner of the screen.
If you do not have a MiLogin account, you must first register before you can access TCPS. Upon successful registration, you will be automatically directed to the TCPS site.

Accounts that were created on the previous TCPS website will not transfer. Individuals and Businesses must create a new account in MiLogin.
Purchases made within the previous TCPS will appear in MiLogin only if the same email address is used for the new MiLogin registration.

A citizen's MiLogin account is intended to be created for use by a sole individual for personal use.
An example of this within the Traffic Crash Purchasing System (TCPS) would be an individual looking for a traffic crash report for an incident that they were involved in. -
A MiLogin for Business account is intended for an individual resident or third-party account for large groups, including businesses and organizations.
An example of this type of account for the Traffic Crash Purchasing System (TCPS) would be an insurance company that needs to purchase multiple reports for their business.

Citizen and Business users may locate a specific crash report image by entering the required search criteria.
Crash Report Search Requirements:
- Driver License Number or Case/Incident Number
- Date of Birth - required.
- Date of Crash - required.
Users that do not have the required information are advised to submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The Traffic Crash Purchasing System will not appear in your accessible MiLogin services until you have registered/logged into the TCPS site at www.michigan.gov/tcps. Once you have successfully logged into the account within this site, TCPS will automatically appear in your MiLogin portal for you to utilize.
MiLogin users who attempt to locate the Traffic Crash Purchasing System using "Discover Online Services" in the MiLogin Portal will not find the service and will receive a "No service found" error.
