MGX New User Registration

Step-by-Step Process for Registering as a New MGX User

  • Accessing MGX

    1. Go to the MGX Landing Page: https://mgx.intelligrants.com/IGXLogin
    2. Select the link labeled “New User Register.”
    3. A pop‑up window titled “New User Registration” will open.
  • Completing the Registration Form

    Fill out all fields in the registration window:

    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. Prefix
    4. Title (Your role within your organization)
    5. SAM Unique Entity ID (UEI)

    6. Organization (The name of the organization you represent)
    7. Address
    8. City
    9. State (This field is pre‑filled with “Michigan.”)
    10 Zip Code
    11. County
    12. Email
    13. Phone

  • Create Your User Name and Password

    Usernames must:

    • Be unique
    • Contain 5 to 20 characters
    • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
    • Include at least one number

    Passswords must:

    • Contain 8 to 20 characters
    • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
    • Include at least one number
    • Include at least one special character (such as @, !, #, $, %, ^, &)

    Verify your password.

     

  • Select Your Division

    Choose Office of Highway Safety Planning from the drop‑down menu.

    Registrations submitted under any other division will be denied.

  • Notes For MGX Subrecipient Roles for Federal Grant Applications

    Enter the names of the personnel who fulfill the following roles:

    Agency Project Director

    All federal grant applications are required to have exactly one Project Director assigned. The Project Director performs these tasks:

    • Initiate new federal grant applications.
    • Assign access for users already registered in MGX to application documents.
    • Complete, update, and submit applications.
    • Initiate, complete, and submit financial, progress, and enforcement reports.Initiate an Amendment Request to an existing grant

    Agency Financial Officer

    All federal grant applications are required to have exactly one Financial Officerl assigned. The Financial Officer performs these tasks:

    • Certify grant application as a high-level organizational authorizer. 

                The Agency Financial Officer cannot initiate a new grant applications.Authorized Official 

    Agency Authorized Official

    All federal grant applications are required to have exactly one Authorized Official assigned. The Authorized Official performs these task:

    • Certify grant applications as a high-level organizational authorizer.

        The Authorized Official cannot initiate a new grant application.

    Agency Program Staff - Optional

     Federal grant applications may have any number of Program Staff assigned. Program Staff perform these tasks:

    • Complete, update, and submit applications.
    •  Initiate, complete, and submit financial, progress, and enforcement reports.
    • Initiate an Amendment Request to an existing grant.

        Program Staff cannot initiate a new grant application.

    Agency Authorized Viewer - Optional

    Federal grant applications may have any number of Agency Viewers assigned. Agency Viewers perform these tasks.

    • Can view all aspects of a grant, including reports.

        Agency Viewers do not have initiating, editing, or saving permissions.

    Agency Vendor - Optional

    Federal grant applications may have any number of Agency Vendors assigned. Agency Vendors perform these tasks.

    • Initiate, complete, and submit invoices directly to the OHSP.

        The Agency Vendor role is only used on grants where OHSP is the subrecipient.

     

     

  • Special Instructions for Specific Grants

    If you are registering for Secondary Road Patrol or Truck grants, enter a 12‑digit placeholder in the SAM UEI field (for example: 000000000000).

     

  • Submitting Your Registration Form

    When all required fields are complete, select “Save.” This submits your request to be registered as a new user in the MGX system.

    After You Submit Your Request for Registration

    A confirmation message should immediately appear as a message pop-up on your Internet browser explaining that your request will be reviewed within three business days.

    You will receive an email confirming submission of your registration. The email subject line will be “MGX Registration Request Submitted.”

    Registration Review Notification

    After the Office of Highway Safety Planning reviews your registration, you will receive an email that indicates whether your registration request is approved or denied.

    If Your Registration Is Approved

    Return to the MGX Landing Page: https://mgx.intelligrants.com/IGXLogin

    Enter the username and password you created during the registration process.
