Polygraph Section

The Michigan State Police Polygraph Program (MSPPP) is an American Polygraph Association (APA) nationally accredited program which undergoes periodic inspections to determine compliance with the APA education and training standards. The APA strives to ensure that the APA Education and Accreditation Committee approved accredited program maintains all minimum education and training standards throughout the period of accreditation. The MSPPP first received APA accreditation in December 2018, was reaccredited in 2023, and remains current through January 2027.

The MSPPP obtained the national status as an American Association of Police Polygraphist (AAPP) recognized accredited polygraph school in 2025. The MSPPP was designated as such by the AAPP Board of Directors. This recognition is based upon the professional ethics of the school, instructors, curriculum, and other items which the AAPP Board of Directors believes pertinent in granting recognition. This recognition remains valid through December 2028.
