In Person Sample Delivery to Resume

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Laboratory Services is committed to the health and safety of everyone in Michigan.  The EGLE Laboratory is currently fully operational.  In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are making temporary changes to drinking water and environmental sample container pickup and sample delivery procedures at the laboratory effective immediately until Michigan’s ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ executive order has been lifted. The guidance document below describes these temporary changes.

    Guidance Document

State of Michigan staff, contractors and other governmental sampling personnel should contact the laboratory at 517-335-9800 with questions regarding environmental sample testing, sample containers, and sample delivery procedures.

Check back often for updates on the status of laboratory services in response to COVID-19.

Current Laboratory Operational Status:  Fully Operational

The Environmental Laboratory of the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is the only state-run environmental laboratory for analyzing environmental samples for state government facilities.  It serves the entire Department, analyzing nearly all of the samples from EGLE environmental programs.
