Petroleum Site Eligibility Determinations for EPA Grantees
Recipients of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grants are required by the EPA to request eligibility determinations from EGLE on Petroleum related sites where the contamination is considered as low-priority or is unknown but suspected..
Petroleum sites may be former gas stations, bulk petroleum storage locations, or other commercial or industrial properties that stored or utilized petroleum products in above or underground storage tanks. Oil and gas wells are not eligible. Residential and agricultural properties may be eligible in limited circumstances.
Requests for a Petroleum determination should be made in accordance with the federal guidelines for low-priority eligibility and submitted using the EGLE Petroleum Eligibility Determination Form provided below. Requests should be made via email to: Ron Smedley at SmedleyR@Michigan.gov
