Petroleum Site Eligibility Determinations for EPA GranteesContact: Ronald Smedley 517-242-9048
Recipients of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grants for Petroleum sites, are required by the EPA to request eligibility determinations from the DEQ regarding low-priority petroleum contaminated or suspected sites. Petroleum sites may be former gas stations, bulk petroleum storage locations, or other commercial or industrial property that stored or utilized petroleum products in above or underground storage tanks. Oil and gas wells are not eligible. Residential and agricultural properties may be eligible in limited circumstances. Along with the federal guidelines for low-priority eligibility, the attached document should be submitted as additional information to make a determination.
