Violations

If a water system receives a violation related to drinking water standards, the CCR must include a description of each violation, any mandatory health effect language, and actions taken to address the violation. This description does not count as meeting the public notice requirements unless the notice includes all 10 required elements under Act 399, R 325.10405.

A water system may use the CCR to deliver a Tier 3 public notice if:

  • All 10 public notice elements are included.
  • The report is directly delivered to all customers within the public notice timeframe.
  • The public notice certificate of distribution is due to EGLE with-in 10 days of distribution.

If a water system chooses to distribute a Tier 3 public notice with the CCR, the public notice must be submitted with the CCR to EGLE by July 1st.

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) Rule requires community water supplies to annually report to their customers on the quality of the drinking water and the sources of that water, and to characterize the risks (if any) from exposure to contaminants detected in the water.
