The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.
This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.
EGLE's interactive calendar is designed to provide timely information on decisions before the Director, proposed settlements of contested cases, administrative rules promulgation, public hearings, meetings and comment deadlines, and environmental conferences, workshops and training programs.

EGLE is required to conduct inspections, or Sanitary Surveys, of public water systems, including Wyandotte.
The purpose of a Survey is to inspect/evaluate the water supply system with respect to the requirements of the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act, 1976 PA 399, as amended (Act 399). It is also an opportunity to update EGLE’s records, provide technical assistance, and identify potential risks that may adversely affect drinking water quality.
Available for download are copies of the most recent EGLE Sanitary Survey from April 2025 and the city’s written response. Due to a minor error discovered during an internal quality control review, EGLE sent the city a revised Sanitary Survey letter in February 2026.
Administrative Consent Agreements (ACAs) are enforcement agreements between EGLE and other parties for the purpose of ensuring corrective actions are completed on time.
The city’s 2025 Sanitary Survey included Significant Deficiencies that they were unable to resolve by the required 120 day deadline. Per EGLE standard procedures, they signed an ACA to complete corrective actions by designated deadlines.
An executed copy of the ACA signed by the city and EGLE is available for download. Section II on Page 3 includes the required corrective actions and deadlines.
The city has not had a violation of the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act, 1976 PA 399, as amended (Act 399) since 2022. The city is required to notify customers directly of any violations, and EGLE will add any future violations to this website to keep residents informed.
The 2022 violation is for submitting the consumer confidence report to EGLE after the deadline, and a copy of the violation notice is available for download. EGLE has not identified any violations of the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act since.
