Radon Poster Contest Information

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) invites 6th - 8th Grade students
to create an original poster for the EGLE Indoor Radon Poster Contest!

What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas. It is the leading cause of lung cancer for never smokers. It is naturally occurring within the soil and can enter homes and buildings through cracks and openings within the foundation. The only way to detect radon within living spaces is to test for it.

Students have the chance to learn about radon and creatively raise awareness about it through their artwork!
