Michigan State of the Great Lakes Report

2023 State of the Great Lakes Report

Each year, EGLE’s Office of the Great Lakes coordinates the development of and publishes the Michigan State of the Great Lakes Report to the state Legislature on behalf of the governor. The statutory report is a collection of articles highlighting the year’s projects, accomplishments, and priority issues and initiatives related to the health and sustainability of the world’s greatest surface freshwater system, including the four Great Lakes that border Michigan.

The 2023 report features 17 articles by State of Michigan experts and guest writers from federal agencies, academia, and the private sector.
