EGLE's interactive calendar is designed to provide timely information on decisions before the Director, proposed settlements of contested cases, administrative rules promulgation, public hearings, meetings and comment deadlines, and environmental conferences, workshops and training programs.
The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Water Resources Division (WRD), Licensing and Technology Support (LATS) Unit is currently unable to offer municipal or industrial wastewater exam reviews. Please visit our training Webpage to review previously offered PowerPoint presentations regarding process-specific topics. Additionally, the Activated Sludge Process Control Manual and the Wastewater Stabilization Lagoon Training Manual are good resources depending on the exam you are preparing for.
Other resources that may be helpful to operators include contacting the Michigan Water Environment Association or Michigan Rural Water Association to review their courses and exam preparation offerings. The Bay College Water Resource Management program is also an excellent resource for robust classes and wastewater content that will prepare you for exams and advance you through the certification process. California State University Sacramento wastewater program courses and manuals are also useful as supplementary materials as you study, or to earn semester hour equivalent credits for the Class A and B certifications.

Municipal wastewater certification examinations are offered twice a year, usually in May and November. Certification is offered for Class A, B, C, D, L1, L2, and SC.
