Scheduled Exam - May 5, 2022, Municipal Wastewater

We take the health and safety of our training and event attendees very seriously and are following Emergency Orders, the Michigan Occupational Health And Safety Administration Emergency Rules, and CDC guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID 19.  The state is taking proactive steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in reducing the coronavirus risk to Michigan residents.  For current and up-to-date information regarding the Coronavirus visit

Directives regarding the COVID-19 pandemic are regularly changing and we are adapting to these changes to best serve you.  The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, an Energy's Water Resources Division is working with each testing venue to ensure that social distancing at the exam can be maintained.  The exam is still scheduled on May 5, 2022.

Please ask yourself these questions before leaving for your exam site. If you answer "yes" to any of these, you cannot take the exam and your application and fee will be moved to the November 2022, exam date. If you have been feeling sick, please contact us and we will accommodate you. Do not come to the exam site if you have been feeling sick.

  • In the past 14 days, have you been tested for a current COVID-19 infection and your test result was positive or your test result is still pending?
  • Within the last 14 days, have you had close, in-person contact with anyone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or anyone who has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19?
  • Do you have any newly developed or worsening symptoms?
    • One of these symptoms: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath, Difficulty breathing, Loss of smell, Loss of taste; OR
    • Two of these symptoms: Fatigue, Muscle aches, Headache, Sore throat, Diarrhea, Nausea or vomiting, Congestion or Runny nose

A facemask may be required for the event. Please bring one so you are prepared.

Please contact us if you are unable to take the exam on May 5, 2022. If you do not show up for the exam without prior notification to our Unit, you will have to reapply for the November 2022 exam cycle. Your application and fee will not automatically be pushed to the next exam cycle.


  • What if the exam is canceled? If the exam is canceled, your application and exam fee will be applied to the November 2022 scheduled exam; you do not need to take any action. 
  • What if I am not feeling well? If you have been sick recently or are feeling sick the day of the exam, please contact us and we will move your application and fee to the November 2022 exam.  
  • Do I need to bring anything? Yes, please bring a few pencils, a non-programmable calculator, and a facemask.
