The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.
This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.
Anyone wishing to formally serve legal documents upon the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), or its officers or employees, may do so by the following methods.

The Drinking Water Operator Training and Certification Unit (OTCU) certifies and supports nearly 5,000 drinking water operators across Michigan. The program provides training opportunities, administers certification exams, and manages renewals to ensure operators meet professional standards, maintain competency, and comply with continuing education requirements.
Continuing Education Credits are required to renew any type of license. The amount needed changes per level of certification. These classes must be approved in order to count towards renewing your license. For more information, reach out to EGLE-OTCU-Training@Michigan.gov.
We do not offer to reschedule certification exams. There are no refunds for examinations once they have been submitted to us. The fee is used as a processing fee.
Results will be posted on the Online Exam Results webpage. To view your results, you must have the Exam ID card you were given the day of the exam. The Exam ID number on the card is what you will use to look up your results. If you do not have the Exam ID card you will need to wait to receive your results in the mail.
We do not issue invoices for certification payments. The exam applications explicitly call out the pricing and receipts are given from our credit card payment site. We will get additional receipts if requested.

Yes, you can obtain a drinking water license with a Criminal record if you meet the working experience requirements and education level. The State of Michigan currently has no laws restricting individuals with criminal records from obtaining these licenses.
