MiEnviro Portal: report a concern

Use the forms below to report a concern or file a complaint of unauthorized activities or other concerns through MiEnviro Portal. Whether it’s a formal complaint or a general issue you'd like to bring to our attention, we want to hear from you. There is no fee to report a concern.  

Report a concern through MiEnviro Portal about...

Yes, you can file a complaint anonymously in MiEnviro; however, a valid phone number or email is required in case we need to follow up with you for more information.

  • Air quality

    For air-related concerns you can see or smell such as:

    • Dust
    • Odor
    • Open Burning
    • Smoke

    Need help submitting an air complaint?

  • Asbestos

    For asbestos-related concerns such as:

    • Demolition, alteration or renovation
    • Asbestos removal or mitigation

  • Water (spills)

    For spills, leaks, or other impacts to lakes, streams, and wetlands such as:

    • Discolored water
    • Oil sheens
    • Unusual amounts of dead fish

  • Water (general)

    For concerns relating to lakes, streams, wetlands, sand dunes, or Great Lakes coastal areas such as:

    • Dredging
    • Filling
    • Placement of a structure

What happens next?

Concerns and complaints submitted to MiEnviro Portal are sent to the appropriate district office based on location and issue type. They’ll be reviewed during business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Make a note of the submission number provided after you submit the form, or print the confirmation page for your records. You’ll need it if you want to check on the status of your complaint later.
