By the Numbers: EGLE's GovDelivery subscriptions increase nearly 73K in 2023

Michiganders have access to variety of information from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) via its email distribution lists on 76 topics.

And interest in this information is growing. The number of subscribers to EGLE’s GovDelivery listservs increased from 326,521 to 399,295 in 2023. The service connects the work we do at EGLE with Michiganders around the state by providing information on a variety of topics, ranging from climate change to the Great Lakes, to training and funding opportunities.

Here are some EGLE GovDelivery 2023 statistics:

  • EGLE added eight new lists since January 2023, for a total of 76 lists.

  • Top five topics for highest engagement rates:
    • Michigan Climate Action News and Updates – 65%
    • Environmental Justice Issues – 62%
    • Training and Outreach – 60%
    • Press Release – 59%
    • Great Lakes and Water -AND- Buildings and Housing Climate and Energy Updates – 57%

       

  • Top 5 topics for largest subscriber growth:
    • Training and Outreach – from 38,466 to 44,627
    • MI Environment – from 15,639 to 19,619
    • EGLE Grants and Loans – from 15,695 to 20,201
    • EGLE Maps and Data – from 2,693 to 4,255
