Michigan to host National Beach Summit, virtual spots still available
October 08, 2026
Every five years, the National Beach Summit brings together researchers, beach managers and owners, and local, state, federal, provincial, and tribal governments to explore the latest research, tools and strategies shaping the future of beach health and water quality.
This month, the summit is coming to Michigan, a leader in beach testing. While in-person registration for the summit to be held Oct. 28 to 30 in Traverse City is sold out, seats are still available to attend sessions virtually.
Researchers, beach managers and environmental professionals will share innovations in beach monitoring — from rapid testing and remote monitoring to predictive modeling and harmful algal bloom detection — along with practical approaches for using new data and communicating results.
