Serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with a team to develop solutions to decrease the opportunity gaps faced by youth - in particular young men and women of color. Identify and make accessible for youth, community resources that will assist them with excelling in school and pursuing future goals. Assist with enhancing or developing systems to recruit, engage, and manage volunteers for programs that support youth. Guide youth in knowing how to be involved in making a difference in their communities through service and having a voice in implementing change. Promote increased access to information and removing barriers to youth pursuing college, skilled trades’ trainings, or youth employment. Positions are available in Lansing, Detroit and Flint.
