Meeting the community's essential needs—related to health, wellness, and safety—is R.I.S.E.'s primary goal because through satisfying residents' most basic needs is foundational to seeing community succeed, thrive, and advance. The programs and services R.I.S.E. provides support the whole community. With an emphasis on unity, R.I.S.E. seeks to develop safe places and togetherness in the community which creates more opportunities for individuals and the neighborhood.
RISE will use grant funds to continue and expand its disaster relief efforts addressing the disparities/inequities that COVID-19 have placed on the African American, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Funds will be used to support the RISE Aim High Out of School Time, the Aim High Recreation program and the summer RISE CDF Freedom School Program. The AIM Program is a comprehensive education program that will support 100 students and families for the remainder of the 2023-24 and the 2024-25 school year and our 2023-24 and 2024-25 Summer Freedom School Program. Freedom School and the Aim High Rec Program). Both programs eliminate access barriers and provide comprehensive support yearlong to 100+ BC area K-12 students (30 in Freedom Schools and 70 in Aim High). Intended to motivate and excite young scholars to enjoy learning and stay in school the project is designed to reduce the impact of high-risk factors such as poor academic achievement, summer learning loss, unhealthy choices.
