New online curriculum created, and training offered to Teachers at no cost.

The Michigan Code.org team developed a list of code.org resources and teacher created resources for CS Fundamentals, CS Discoveries, and AP CS Principles. These resources are available for free use, revision, adaptation, and inspiration.

Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative
Teachers grades 4-9
Created three pandemic-proof, project-based challenges for use in regions served by GLSI hubs and, with qualification, in MiSTEM regions that participate in the GLSI Consortium
Released one pandemic-proof, project-based challenge about storm water to OER.
K-12 teachers, administrators, community partners
Made available a set of principles for exemplary place-based stewardship education and various case studies of place-based stewardship efforts

Math Recovery
Parents and Community Members:
Access to FREE resources to support PK – 5 learning at home. Resources include descriptions of key mathematical learning by grade level that includes links to activities, games, websites, and videos.
Any Michigan Education:
Access to resources that support PK – 5 learning that includes grade level content aligned videos of instructional methods, activities, lessons to deliver mathematics instruction.
Math Recovery Trained Educators:
Membership to Math Recovery has been extended until 9/30/21.

Created remote learning lessons and resources for each lesson that can be completed by students at home.
Released a complete Mi-STAR Unit 6.4: “Protect Your Cell Phone: Forces and Motion” that can be accessed as a shared resource from Open Education Resource (OER).
Initiated an online professional learning program for educators.

Modeling in Michigan
Developed new instructional approaches for online learning in science that ensure engaging, higher level student thinking.
Provided 14 free summer 2020 workshops around such approaches as Phase I COVID response.
Planning two new sets of workshops for current academic year as Phase II COVID response.

NGSX
Creation of a Virtual Pathway (V-BNGST) to train teachers and facilitators on how to facilitate in a virtual setting
Launched and ran a pilot with Michigan teachers and facilitators who participated in testing the Virtual Pathway materials and resources

Created new online learning resources to the Unit Component Icons and digital tools along with templates for teacher use who need to implement remote and hybrid Phenomenal Science routines.
