Welcome to the new Grant webpage. This webpage houses grant system links, updates from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)-managed grants and finding additional resources for certain grants.

Legislation

Public Act 120 of 2024 amends Public Act 94 of 1979, entitled "An act to make appropriations to aid in the support of the pubic schools, the intermediate school districts, community colleges, and public universities of the state".  To reach the Act in its entirety, click on the links below. If you are looking for a specific section within the act, once the link has opened, press CTRL+F, and the search box will appear. Then type the section number you are lookin for. Information on individual grants can be found on the Grants information webpages, accessible through the "Additional Grant Resources and Awardees" column in the MDE Grants Repository.

MDE Grants Repository

The repository contains various details about federal, state, and Michigan endowment grants managed by MDE.

Tips for using the repository:

• To make it easier to view, you can expand the screen size by selecting the zoom level in the lower right corner of the repository or open it in full-screen mode by selecting the directional arrows directly below the zoom dialog box.
• Hovering over each box will display the entire grant information, or you can scroll to the right to access all columns of information.
• To search the repository, simply enter a keyword into the search box. To narrow down your search, you can select from grant type and grant year. When using the search bar, try narrowing your search for grants, e.g. Section 23g MI Kids Back on Track, or 23g. If you are only looking for new competitive grants for the current year, narrow your search to the 2024-2025 year and grant type to competitive. An option to search for grants by application dates is also available.
• You can sort the columns alphabetically by clicking the column title once for A-Z and again for Z-A.
• When additional information is available for new grants, such as application links and FAQs, or new information is added to existing grants, such as grant awardees, a link is available under the column "Additional Grant Resources". This link will take you directly to a webpage that houses more information.

The repository is live and is updated daily, Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
